Become A Sponsor
Together with our partner association KNGO Australia, we offer a sponsorship program for school students.
Our program enables children and young people from impoverished families to attend school.
With a sponsorship of 35 euros per month, you sponsor a child with everything they need:
-
School uniform
-
Materials for teaching such as pens, notebooks, books, backpack
-
General basic medical care
-
Regular dental care
-
If necessary, the cost of meals will also be covered
-
2.50 Euros will be donated to our school project.
Every sponsored child and their family are in close contact with KNGO Cambodia. KNGO Cambodia reviews and approves all payments to families to ensure assistance goes where it is needed. This also ensures that the children and young people supported actually take part in school lessons.
If you would like to become a sponsor, please fill out the form below. We will then take care of everything else.
-
How are sponsored children selected?KNGO Cambodia identifies local families in need based on a set of criteria that includes family income, number and age of children, medical needs, current school attendance and other relevant details of the family situation. All expenses for sponsored children are approved and documented by KNGO Cambodia. Since we attach great importance to transparency, we will be happy to disclose how the funds are used to you as a sponsor upon request.
-
Would you like to gift a sponsorship?Taking on a sponsorship is a wonderful gift and brings joy in many ways: to the sponsored student, the recipient and, of course, to you too. If you would like to give a sponsorship as a gift, please let us know using the message field on the registration form. By the way, you can also join forces with several people and share a sponsorship.
-
What contact with the sponsored children is planned?Regular (twice a year) reports on school performance and, if applicable, photos of the sponsored children are provided to us by KNGO Cambodia and forwarded to the sponsors. You can also send your sponsored child a personal message via our association. Please understand that for reasons of child protection we do not establish direct contact between sponsors and sponsored children.
-
Am I entering into a contractual obligation?Continuous support for your sponsored child is desirable. However, you do not enter into any contractual obligation. You can end your engagement at any time – without giving reasons. The contribution is always debited on the first of the month or on the first banking day of a month. If the objection is made five days before the next booking run, no debit will be made for the upcoming month. If you cancel your sponsorship in the five calendar days before the booking run, there will be another debit for the month. The cancellation will take effect from the following month. There will be no pro rata chargeback.
-
How long does a sponsorship last? The average duration of a sponsored child is around five years. A sponsorship is always a temporary accompaniment. The important goal is to strengthen people's self-help skills and initiative so that families can care for their children themselves. If you sponsor a child, the duration depends on the local requirements. However, you are not entering into a contractual obligation. You can end the sponsorship at any time and without giving reasons.
-
Can I visit my sponsored child?Unfortunately we cannot facilitate such a visit. From our experience, it is also not recommended. Even the formal hurdles are almost insurmountable. Minors must be accompanied by an adult from their country of origin. In addition, in many cases there is no passport for visa and entry. The sponsors must also agree to cover all costs with the immigration authorities - even in emergencies. It's something different when the godchildren have grown up, have more life experience and can support themselves.
